Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Job 1108

Responsibilities:

Our Engineers use their software development and debugging skills for product development, providing technical support to customers, and for customer specific enhancements. This requires working with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOSes), TCP/IP, USB, embedded file systems, middleware, and other protocol stacks. Primary responsibilities include the development and testing of drivers, Board Support Packages, protocols, and application code. You may also be involved with e-mail and telephone support to customers and possibly on-site support / training.

• Experience working with various types of embedded hardware
• Architectural knowledge of embedded 32-bit processors such as ColdFire, Power Architecture, and ARM
• Superior C/C++ programming skills and experience with Multi-threaded programming
• Experience with cross-compilers, cross-debuggers and JTAG/BDM debugging with product such as CodeWarrior and IAR
• Excellent debugging and problem solving skills. Must be able to resolve integration issues and get embedded systems up and running
• Previous experience with RTOSes, ideally MQX
• Embedded device driver development experience such as Ethernet, serial, USB, PCI, I2C, SPI
• TCP/IP networking knowledge and experience
• Ability and willingness to learn new technical products quickly. (reading manuals and reference material)
• Experience in customer service / relations considered an asset

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science and a minimum of five years experience working with embedded systems
